Month 1 of Blogging Adventure

I have no idea what I'm doing.

Hey there folks!

I recently started a health blog in an effort to educate patients, inspire people to become future patients and for good old entertainment. I enjoy the process of writing and it's a great way to express my views on health, wellness and otherwise. But, sometimes I think, "what's the point?" There's so much noise out there, it's hard to imagine gaining an audience bigger than my mom.  And honestly, I don't even think she's reading my blog.

Let's be real, the health and wellness community is saturated with people spitting out their 'expertise', so who am I to join this congested party? Well, I'm an acupuncturist, herbalist, Chicagoan, female, dog-owner, who loves butter and Polka music with an affinity for Martinis. Internet, give me a chance.

And that's why I'm documenting my journey from absolute novice to hopeful blogger. I'm going to be completely transparent to give folks out there an even better idea of my absolute lack of blogging ability. I have no clue what I'm doing, but I'm doing it anyway.

I've been catching up other people's very successful blogs about setting up blogs and monetizing blogs and advertising your blogs, and I'm beginning to think that I should start a blog on how to run a successful blog.

Honestly, it's completely overwhelming and over my head. But I have a masters degree, so I think there's enough headspace up there to figure some of this stuff out. If not, I'll just go back to watching "Mad Men" and reading books on herbs and acupuncture.

If you are also interested in starting a blog, join me in the process. Because we can be complete novices together and learn from our mistakes.

So here is my experiment on starting a blog. I'll update everyone on my progress, and let you know the steps I took to continually update.

'Every great journey begins with 1 blog follower.'

That's the quote, right?
